About Us

It takes two...

While Jen is getting her hands dirty restoring machines and turning her sewing room into a garage/studio/office, her husband Marc is the voice of reason, encourager and business brain behind all the chaos. Sewing Machine Rehab was born through his support and her creativity, totally unplanned. Together they raise a blended family of five children and have been blessed to welcome the next generation of their family into the world.

Restoring with a purpose...

Jen knew that if she kept restoring sewing machines, something had to be done with them when they were finished. Keeping them all would require space and it didn't make sense to let a perfectly working machine gather dust. Selling the machines was the obvious choice but she wanted to be intentional with the profits made from them. God had gifted her with the means and ability to restore the machines, taking something that was broken and tossed and making it beautiful and desirable again. The process of restoring a sewing machine was a representation of what God had done (and is still doing) in her own life. So the commitment was made, with pure willingness and joy to donate as much of the proceeds from each machine as possible. When a restored machine is purchased from Sewing Machine Rehab, some (most of the time, all) of the proceeds are donated to various charities. They are multi-purpose machines!

What happens when a machine comes to Sewing Machine Rehab? Can you restore my sewing machine?

Each machine offered for sale has been through countless hours of inspection, cleaning, repair, service and testing. This involves removing most parts from the machine and reinstalling them or replacing them. In depth examples of the restoration process can be found on our YouTube channel Sewing Machine Rehab.

We specialize in Singer Featherweight 221 and 222 models as well as Singer 301 and 301A models but also work with other models including but not limited to the Singer 99k, Singer 66 and Singer 400 series models. If you have a machine that needs serviced, repaired or restored, you can contact us for more information.
